On January 31, the Portuguese Association of Printing and Paper Industries (APIGRAF) distinguished the companies in the printing and paper manufacturing sector that had the best performance in 2019.

The calculation of the results for this annual award is carried out by Informa D&B. The Business Excellence Awards are annually attributed by APIGRAF to the companies that stood out in the sectors of the printing and paper manufacturing industries, contributing to highlight the strength and quality present in the Portuguese industrial fabric in the areas represented by this association.

The APIGRAF Business Excellence Awards distinguished 12 companies, distributed by four categories: Large, Medium, Small and Micro associated companies. In the Large Companies category, the company chosen was Bloco Gráfico for the Gold prize. In the Medium Companies division, the first place was awarded to Sebastião & Martins, S.A. In the Small Companies category, Rui Azevedo Silva - Soluções de Acabamentos e Tampografia, Lda. received the Gold distinction. Finally, the winner among the Micro Companies was Gráfica Raúl Manuel de Sousa, Lda.

The ceremony that brings together all the graphic and paper manufacturing industry, also awarded the APIGRAF Prestige Award to José Pacheco Pereira, for being a unique personality in its relationship with the sector represented by APIGRAF. The choice of José Pacheco Pereira to receive the Prestige Award was due to his rich life story, his enthusiasm for publications produced by Portuguese industries in the sector, as well as the development of the project "Ephemera" which aims to record and disseminate the most diverse national graphic productions.
